Morgan Denney is a composer and arranger who writes music for concert settings, film, dance, theater, and education. She is “skilled at conveying raw energy in soundscape and composition form with beautiful lyricism” (The Musical Times, 2019). Her style is frequently described as “imaginative” and “quirky,” and she loves to experiment with musical colors, textures, psychology, and humor.

Morgan’s compositions and arrangements have been performed globally, played at the Midwest Clinic, are distributed by Alfred Music and The FJH Music Company, and can be found on the JW Pepper Editors’ Choice List as well as the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List. She has most recently been commissioned to write for the Fort Collins Symphony, the Health and Wellness Community Orchestra, and several music programs around the United States. In addition, she contributed several compositions for Mel Bay Publications’ Mastering the Violin: A Comprehensive Study for the Adult Learner.

Morgan holds a Master’s degree in music composition from the University of Miami and a Bachelor’s degree in music composition with honors from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Her primary mentors have included Dorothy Hindman, Daniel Kellogg, Lansing McLoskey, and Carter Pann.
